SCOTTISH CHAMPIONSHIPS 2010 WILL BE HELD FROM 17 - 19 SEPTEMBER 2010

Hi Again,It has been some time since we last updated you on our event. A lot has happened since then so please do take a moment to continue reading to hear what is going on.We had a block booking with the Quality Hotel for discounted rooms. We made this agreement on the number of competitors attending previous years events. Boy, were we wrong! On the 30th of June, the hotel contacted us to say they had already oversold our block booking. Unfortunately, they have only a small number of rooms available and they could not offer the discounted rate so would be charging £125 per person per day, their normal rate.With this in mind, we looked at other hotels in the area. We found that the Travelodge is the next best option. Their room rate is very cheap at around £50 per night for a room for 3, not per person. Breakfast can be added on as an extra at £6.50 per day. The hotel is about 3 miles away from the venue, but this would take about 15 to 20 minutes to walk as you have to walk around the perimeter of the fence to reach the entrance gate. A taxi to the airport costs about £8.00 and as the venue is close to the airport, the cost is around the same price. As we already know there are still a few people looking for rooms and we have already placed 7 bookings at this hotel, we will look into offering a shuttle bus service to the venue. There would need to be a small charge for this service, but we intend keeping it to a minimum of around £10-15 for the full weekend. This would not include pick-up from the airport which we would not be able to offer this year.You will be required to make your payment at the time of your booking. You will receive an email with your confirmation number which you should take with you on arrival.The caterer has asked if there will be any special dietary requirements needed at the venue. If you have any special requests, please do let us know soon to allow this to be included in the menu.We will post a sample menu soon of the meals available at the venue and the times they will be served. As this venue provided its own food and drink, it is requested that no-one brings their own food or drinks into the venue.
